FERRILL RESIDENCE

Seven Lakes, Washington - Custom Home

Ferrill Residence galvanized steel spiral stairs connect gardens to the main floor deck - Pelletier + Schaar

The design is an embrace of the site and the benefits of nature. The Ferrills wished for open, clean and refined interiors with generous amounts of daylighting. The plan needed to provide self-sufficient and flexible spaces to accommodate Mr. and Mrs. Ferrill and their two teenage sons, who are home schooled. Orienting and positioning the home to take best advantage of the natural surroundings was top on their wish list.

The “green-saavy” owners also wanted solar voltaic panels, systems to capture rain water for irrigation and grey water for use within the home, LED lighting and smart controls throughout, sustainable bamboo flooring and cabinetry, recycled glass and metal tile, SIPS roof panels and Faswall ICFs for the walls and foundation.
