PROJECT DESIGNER

Pelletier + Schaar, an established and award-winning design firm, is looking for project designers to join its growing team. Enjoy the benefits of a small community in Washington State’s gorgeous Pacific Coast with easy access to hiking, beaches and the San Juan Islands. Team members enjoy creative work on custom waterfront homes, multi-family housing, civic, commercial, educational and healthcare projects.

 

Qualified candidates should have 2-4 years of proven work experience, a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture (or Masters) from an accredited institution and be proficient in AutoCAD, Revit and commonly accepted office software.

Professional

  • Positive, professional work ethic and demeanor when interacting with colleagues, clients, contractors, government officials and others

  • Work self-directed and able to coordinate with interns effectively, as well as actively collaborate as part of a team

  • Appreciate quality design

  • Ability to develop and aid in design concepts with knowledge of materials and constructability

  • Passionate about architecture and design

 

Management

  • Attends client meetings and site visits

  • Effectively interacts with clients, contractors and government officials to manage the successful completion of projects

  • Resourceful in research IRC, IBC and local codes

  • Pinpoints and aids in resolving document conflicts and deficiencies

 

Technical

  • Efficiently uses AutoCAD and Revit to create and prepare architectural drawings at all levels of project development

  • Thorough when modifying or updating drawings to reflect client and architect changes

  • Constructively contributes towards project development and architectural documents, based on experience and knowledge of architecture and construction

  • Develop accurate as-built documents from existing drawings and site measurements

 

Experience/Education

  • 2-4 years of work experience in the architecture, engineering or construction fields

  • Has a four-year Architectural Design degree or higher
