Woods Residence
The Woods came to Pelletier + Schaar to create a home that met both of their design interests. While he preferred the simple volumes and details of East Coast saltboxes, she was attracted to the more organic refined feel of Asian architecture. And, they both wanted to create a home that embraced contemporary Northwest details and design ideas. Pelletier + Schaar worked with the Woods to accomplish a design that met both of their wishes. A colonnade of exposed concrete columns leads to the entry which opens into the great room with sweeping views of the water and mountains beyond. The dining nook extends beyond the rest of the home and sits atop a steel frame, giving the feeling of being suspended in mid-air. Environmentally-friendly bamboo and cork flooring were used throughout the home. The result is a beautiful home that reflects both of their interests.
